Im not eating , im afraid of constipation or bloating

Im worried about how ill get out of low income housing

Wow im a loser and i feel oppressed big time and i lost my ballsy edge

Keep thinking about infinite jest year of the depends undergarment and relating it to my porn addiction even though i have no idea what time period that was in the book

reply

Not me, but my dad is having his taken out later this month. He was in a lot of pain during the last flare up.

Ditch the miralax and start taking psyllium husk instead, along with upping your water intake. And explain to you doctor that this is a problem, not just a minor inconvenience.

reply

i'm too poor, diet is poor

i have chronic constipation if im not using miralax

reply

Psyllium husk is cheaper than miralax. Talk to your doctor and get a referral to a GI if it's serious.

i was homeless and was eating tons of bread and processed flour, had the gall bladder removed in march 2022 and went homeless in july.

had a colonoscopy in like november because i had tons of bleeding, got constipated like elvis and messed up my eye real bad because there was a chip in it and got blue light damage and the constipation didnt help, after a visit to behavoral health center.

i was told to take it everyday and im too poor to make it to a grocery store everyday for fruit to get water in the colon

reply

You gotta advocate for yourself man. Make a Doctor's appointment and voice your concerns. Miralax daily for a week or so is fine, but it's not meant to be taken long term.

reply

I had mine removed over 10 years ago this point because of gall stones. It’s had zero effect on my life.

reply

HAD MINE REMOVED THE FIRST WEEK OF THE PANDEMIC...I HAVE EXPERIENCED ZERO EFFECTS AS WELL.

reply

I might as well not have a pancreas. Mine doesn't do shit.

Signed, million man.

I had my gallbladder taken out a few years ago, but I guess I lucked out cause I haven't had any bowel movement related problems from it.

I do have a tiny hernia where they made the incision that eventually is going to need surgery, but nothing major.

reply

Well I must have more gall stones then or something or bad genes or something

I was fine until I went homeless

I always had the iron deficiency

I'm not sure what your diet is currently like but the gallbladder stores bile, which helps digest fats. Without the gallbladder, bile flows more continuously, albeit in smaller amounts, into the intestines, which can lead to various digestive issues for some people.

If your eating food high in saturated fat you need to try to cut down on it.
Increase your consumption of dietary fiber, like oatmeal, fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and seeds. Fiber adds bulk to the stool and can help promote regular bowel movements.

Also, Drink a lot of water, being dehydrated can worsen constipation.

I'm not a doctor so you need to get to a clinic or physician and get this looked at.

reply

Yes I know but im piss poor and not near a grocery store

Processed flour is bad for me

reply

You're eating food though right?

Eat more oatmeal, fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and seeds and drink tons of water until you get to a doctor.

reply

Stop eating processed flour. Nobody should eat that shit anyway.

If you don't have insurance see if there are community clinics and/or health centers that offer no-cost or sliding scale fees. You need to consult with a healthcare professional about this.

I know doctors can be a pain in the ass and usually I end up self-diagnosing and "fixing" myself for minor type stuff, but if you've been on MiraLAX for more than 10 days you need to get this looked at.

reply

I strongly agree about drinking water.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. I'd go to a chemist and ask them for healthier alternatives to miralax, since they'd know - sometimes more than your actual doctor - they won't charge you for the information, and they'll likely have whatever you need in stock, or else they can order it for you if no prescription is needed. If it is, at least you can go back to your doctor and request a prescription, so it's a starting point.

I've had my gall bladder removed, but I can't say it's resulted in any need for meds, I just have an extremely high sensitivity to oily food and can't eat fried food without feeling like hell - so sorry you're going through this.
