German or Scandinavian TV series

Do you know good German or Scandinavian TV series? I think that best could be leitmotive connected with a girl and life in mountain.

Do you know something similar?

reply

Kleo - I loved that series. Very dark, dry.

reply

You could try 1899.

There's some Germans and in some scenes I think there's mountains.

And some ships! 🛳️ 🚢 ⛴️

You forgot to mention the ships, parkVerbot. ☺

Kind of a spoiler.

Serious question:
Did you really like that series? (no pun intended).
I only watched the first 2 episodes and then stopped.

Perhaps I was wrong?
As I was wrong with Babylon Berlin (2017 ff).

Yes, I did; however, it takes some extra effort in 'attention and memorization' because there are separate sets of families involved throughout different 'time-periods' to keep up with and it will seem confusing at first with all the names, especially if you watch the German version (I think they also have the English dubbed version).

I have not watched BB yet.

reply

Ok, then I'll try Dark again.
With a name list...on screen. ☺

Thank you!

reply

Dark is absolutely brilliant, but you definitely have to pay attention. I've watched it three times.

reply

Yeap, the lead actor was also in another recent series called '1899'; however, it was nowhere near as good as 'Dark'.

Rig 41 - murder at sea.

Scandinavian , about 2/3rd of the dialogue's in English so not a full time subtitles but you do need them.

reply

I like that too

Depending on who you ask, Finland is or is not part of Scandinavia. Regardless, Bordertown is excellent.
