It's annoying that when you catch someone out online, particularly, say, a celebrity, they can just put you on 'ignore', whereas if you caught them out to their face, they'd have to acknowledge their stupidity and ignorance.
Years ago on Twitter, I saw a man constantly make antisemitic remarks to a Jewish man. I reported multiple tweets and his account was suspended. If it was real life, he would have kept spouting his nonsense.
I'm talking about arguing with *relatively* reasonable people.
Relatively reasonable people still have some licence to act like jerks, and be rude, dismissive or put one on 'ignore' on social media, but in real-life, they're likely to feel some shame and the obligation to be decent.
Assholes, including anti-Semites, will be assholes, whatever the circumstances, and it's hard to argue with those people in any situation.
Still, I'm pleased you had success in getting the aforementioned asshole suspended. I reported some bigots, including anti-Semites, on Twitter (albeit more recently) and, alas, nothing generally came of it. This was even before Elon took over.

I deleted my Twitter a while ago, but if I still had it, I'm sure I would have reported a lot of people. Back then, they were a little hit-and-miss of who they would consider suspending or banning. reply share
