What were you doing September. 12th, 2001?

The US Dept of Homeland Security would like to know what YOU were doing on September, 12th, 2001.

I was doing some work for London's Metropolitan Police at the time. I went in to find that just about every officer in the Met had been pulled from their normal duties and were working increased security patrols, either locally or up in central London.

Work was closed so I went down to the river and drank all day with the boys at a small boat club I
belonged to.

Everyone there was terribly sad, enraged, confused, in shock and well and truly drunk, it’s a wonder all of us could stagger home afterward.

Not gonna lie, there were probably some tears and a whole lot of angry, foul language.

A week later the Anthrax attacks began and we all just naturally assumed it was a second offensive launched by the as yet mysterious enemy. Apparently it was unrelated but holy shit, what filthy psycho pulled that nefarious stunt right after the country got ‘Pearl Harbored’ all over again!?!

I was in middle school watching it on the TV in the library.
