What one should know about this episode, "The Deal," is that although it wasn't the final episode to air in Season 2, it was the final episode that was shot. It wasn't clear that the show would be renewed. So in a way it was treated as if it might be the series closer. That's at least one reason why Jerry and Larry decided for them to get back together.
