Well, give an example. You mean like "Jackass" type gross-out or "Exorcist" type gross-out or "Animal House" type gross-out?
shareI don't regard Exorcist, one of the GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME, as gross-out, but basically I'm thinking of scatalogical 'comedies', like the later Scary Movie installments and Not Another Teen Movie. Basically, any film that regards diarrhea as the height of humour. You know, the types of films that were particularly popular at the turn of the millennium.
Although I'm not the biggest fan of Animal House (there are a few rapey gags in there, and overall the film isn't as funny as everyone says), apart from John Belushi's 'impression of a zit', there aren't that many *really* gross gags in it, to my recollection.
I've never seen a Jackass movie, partly for this reason (grossness), although I'd probably enjoy the *dangerous* stunts (whilst tutting away at their foolishness), and the pratfalls. It's just the *dirty*/*lavatorial* stuff I couldn't cope with.

I had to switch off Scary Movie 4 and Not Another Teen Movie, because of the various *shit* jokes (and I don't mean 'shit' in the figurative sense, although that certainly applies to these films too).
I switched on Scary Movie 4 by mistake, and I decided to watch Not Another Teen Movie, because I find Jaime Pressly quite attractive, but I had to switch off both, in disgust.
I don't like romantic comedies for the same reason, so I don't watch them.
