What are some directors considered by most to be consistently bad that you actually like? Not hit or miss or inconsistent, but directors who always get bad ratings or reviews. Mine are:

These directors are considered by many as “bad” but I love most of their films. In fact, I try to watch everything I can find made by these guys.

Bruno Mattei
Joe D’Amato
Jean Rollin
Andrea Bianchi
Umberto Lenzi
Good list. I like some Jess Franco and Jean Rollin films. I've only seen 1 film by Antonio Margheriti (Andy Warhol's Frankenstein), which I thought was okay. I've only seen Caligula and Messalina (1981) by Bruno Mattei, but I really liked it. I don't think I have seen anything by Joe D’Amato or Andrea Bianchi. I've seen 4 films by Umberto Lenzi and really liked two of them and thought the other two were just okay. Have you seen any Doris Wishman films?

shareI've seen 19 of her films. She was an interesting, unusual director and did some enjoyable and weird, fun and trashy films. You should check out a couple of her films and report back what you think.
