I'm struggling to find the words...she was one of the all-time sex symbols...she was also a respectable actress, winning a Golden Globe in 1975 for The Three Musketeers. I was a preteen in the late 60s--early 70s. By the time I was a teen in the mid 1970s she was starting to be supplanted by others, but such was her looks and talent that she never faded away and was not just another forgotten sex symbol: she really did became a cultural icon. Her appearance on Seinfeld showed she could poke fun at herself--always an endearing quality.
I am taken aback by how many have passed recently. 82 is not a bad life span, they haven't come out with what the illness was yet that she was suffering from.

Really sad to see this...she was one hot woman back in the day.
I never really saw any of her movies that I remember (Well, I did see one: "Naked Gun 2 1/2:The Final Insult." 😃). I always remember her from "The Shawshank Redemption"..."the lovely Raquel." And she was indeed lovely...RIP.
