Gödel, Escher and Bach. Taking a second shot at it, but reading it only on Sundays when I am well rested and have time to focus in on it.

I remember selling that at my bookstore. Amazing graphic design. The synopsis reminds me of a Mary Roach approach to a subject. Is it a heavy read?

Very heavy. I have to go Google many topics on a foundational level to get through some of the chapters.

You should follow it up with 'I am a strange loop' it's also by Douglas Hofstadter, it's his follow up to 'Gödel, Escher and Bach'. Don't remember much about it, because I read like 15 years ago, but I remember that it was really good, really interesting, and really heavy. Very interesting concepts of consciousness. Some of the ideas are based on Daniel Dennett's ideas of consciousness. Not surprising since Dennett and Hofstadter are pretty close. Although, I do remember that Dennett was critical of some of Hofstadter's conclusions.

I used to watch the Super Bowl, but I've completely lost interest.

I might watch an episode of Derrick before going to bed. I thought Boardwalk Empire was a great show. First-time viewer?

Yes. I'm on the first season and it's engaging. I'm happy Paz De La Huerta got to do more than Nurse. Richard Harrow is peaking my interest.

Been watching 'The Last of Us' all day. Now I'm watching 'Mayor of Kingstown'. Afterwards I plan to watch 'Over the Top (1987)', and then finish 'The Last of Us'.
