A popular comedian that you don't find funny at all?
I'll start. Jane Lynch.
shareI never found Jerry Seinfeld to be particularly funny. To me he was the straight guy on 'Seinfeld' and the other actors were the comedians. And his little "stand-up" piece in front of a "live audience" at the start of each episode wasn't funny either.
You know what? I actually enjoy and laugh at Jerry when he breaks away from playing the straight man.
Example, the Serenity Now episode where he gets in touch with his emotions, first learning to get mad and then becoming too soft and saying he loves everyone.
Oh Jerry is a good actor, he's just not funny enough to be called a comedian in my opinion. That's not to say he can't be amusing at times, like most other straight actors.
He & Larry David -wrote- all that. Completely.
shareNot "completely". There were another dozen or more writers for the show as well as Larry and Jerry. But my guess is that Larry David was probably the largest single contributor. Jerry has said that he found writing for Seinfeld "dreary".
Fair enough, but I don't think we could reasonably think Jerry didn't have a lot of input on the writing, not to mention ad-hoc tuning.
The guy is a comedian. He was a co-creator of the show concept, its characters, the casting, the basic story structure. A lot of the dialogue sounds like Jerry's bits.
Dave Chappelle - He's brilliant as a sketch artist, I rarely find his stand-up funny.
Jim Gaffigan - Capable of being funny for about a minute. All downhill after that.
Bill Cosby - Even before he was exposed for what he is, I thought his stand-up was drawn out and dull.
Louis C.K. - A creep and pseudo-intellectual
Amy Schumer. I don't think I've ever laughed at any joke of hers. Not even a chuckle.

AMEN! Fat and NOT funny!
🤨
Dane Cook
Amy Schumer
Holy shit, I genuinely forgot about Dane Cook. He was kinda big in my teen years.
Tried to watch his stuff, found him painfully unfunny
Wonder what happened to him. I'm sure he's rich af but dude just fell into obscurity.
Yeah, he was hugely popular with the teen and college crowd for a while, but you never even hear about him anymore.
