What is Jewish food like?
There's hardly any Jews where I live, so I never got to experience their cooking. I've heard it's really good though.

I can't speak to Israeli cuisine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_cuisine
In the USA, we associate Jewish food with Deli food, here is one of the best https://2ndavedeli.com/
Well there is no such thing as Jewish food.
The food we eat are
Sfaradim we eat Arabic food, since all our great grand parents come from Siria or Lebanon
Or the ashkenazim eat European food mostly food from Poland and Eastern Europe.
Do you recognize some of these? They look delicious! https://spoonuniversity.com/lifestyle/15-traditional-jewish-foods

It’s smoked salmon with bagels and salad.
shareShakshuka easy to make and very tasty.
Don’t ever bring a lesser babka to a dinner party.
shareWhen Americans say "Jewish food" they usually mean Ashkenazi food, which is basically Eastern European food adapted for Kosher. That's because huge numbers of Ashkenazi Jews left eastern Europe and came to the US in the 19th and 20th centuries, for excellent reasons, so the Jewish culture in the US is dominated by the Ashkenazi.
And I love it! Rich and delicious food, with lots of dairy and meatless dishes. Low-fat and low-carb dieters look elsewhere.
Is this an insult Jews use?: "You put the Nazi in Ashkenazi!"
shareI sincerely hope not. Only a complete asshole would do that.
Ash·ke·naz·i[äSHkəˈnäzē, ˌaSHkəˈnäzē]
NOUN: a Jewish person of central or eastern European descent, traditionally speaking Yiddish. About 80 percent of Jewish people today are Ashkenazim. Compare with Sephardi.

Pretty much the same as Middle Eastern food, but more bland. Not one of the world's great cuisines.
Persian food is far more developed and tastier.
You know what's gross? German food. Blech!!
--Michael D. Clarke
LOL - I love German food - sauerbraten is one of most favorite meals - along with red cabbage and potato pancakes. Yummy.
shareIt's too bland for me. I really dig Indian food though. Yum...
--Michael D. Clarke
Yeah, Indian/Paki food is fantastic.
Regarding deli, you cannot go wrong with pastrami and swiss on rye w/ mustard & mayo, with a dill pickle, a nice little potato salad or some chicken soup.
If you are in an authentic Jewish Style deli, try the Matzoh Ball soup.

That is something else.

Ohhhh even me forgot about this one.
I'm more of an mizrahi Jewish our food is much better then European Jewish.
Seems gross to eat an intestine though. 😝
--Michael D. Clarke
There are a lot of jokes about the European-Jewish food between the Jewish
Kishka definitely deserve one 😂
Sausages are in intestine aren't they ? At least they used to be 🤷🏻♀️
shareIMO the best hot dogs are natural casing hot dogs. "Natural casing" means intestine. The vast majority of hot dogs sold in supermarkets are skinless (meaning the casing has been removed after cooking and before packaging). It's the natural casing that seals in the juices and gives the hot dog that characteristic snap when you bite into it. Sausages, OTOH, typically come uncooked and have a casing when you buy them. I don't know off hand the percentage of sausages that are made with natural casing. Synthetic casings exist.

I would distinguish that from something like tripe, which doesn't sound or look appetizing all.

Oooh, I used to be fed tripe when I was little 🤢. I thought it was fish.
One of many things that drove me to turn veggie in my teenage years.
Do not swim for at least 30 minutes after eating
shareDiarrhea?
--Michael D. Clarke
No, just a stereotype of the overbearing Jewish mother.
