Although for some obscure films, its for stuff few if anyone would either care about or never see. Hope that doesn't make me a bad person and I will try not to worry here but of course if necessary, as with a lot of things in life, I can avoid it in the future. Thanks.
I get the impulse. I really like talking about movies, and when I talk to people that still haven't watched them, I have this urge to hype them up and explain as much as possible without spoiling anything. Sometimes I say too much.
Although, sometimes the people are too sensitive about spoilers. They consider anything and everything a spoiler. You mention that a certain actor is in it and they freak out that you spoiled something for them. I can't stand those people. I think they are unreasonable.
Talking during a movie when other people have paid good money to go and see it, and to enjoy themselves, is rather inconsiderate, and it spoils the movie for other people. The same thing goes for using cellphones for both talking and texting, and using one's cellphone as a flashlight when one is going to the restroom, or whatever, because the small, bright lights of cell phones, especially smart phones, are extremely distracting.
Some movie theatres, such as Alamo Drafthouse, have long had, and still have a zero-tolerance for talking or using cellphones for anything during a movie, and have enforced a 3 strikes-and-you're-out policy: The first time, offenders just get a warning. The second time, if the offender(s) is/are persistent, despite being warned, they get kicked out of the theater, with no refund of their money, and that serves them right.
Yes, talking during the movie is a definite no no. I believe we should exercise our 2nd amendment right against anyone who talks during a movie in a movie theater. And that goes double for anyone who takes out a cellphone in a dark theater.
I think people that spoil movies, and hand wave it as if it’s no big deal are dicks. The usual excuse is that everyone already knows, but that’s only the case because people like them go around casually spoiling movies, and contributing to the problem. The excuse is that the movies is XX years old. No one is able to consume ever piece of media, and the spoilers never expire.
This isn’t really directed at the topic creator, it’s just a rant in general. I find it sad that the greatest spoilers, are also the ones that most people can’t experience naturally because people like to ruin them.
Well, I try for the MOST part not to SPOIL it yes, but in some rare cases I may fail or say for instance, in order to make a point of certain sorts, essentially and effectively do it too. Though for some cases, no one really minded that much anyways.
Also, I too sometimes come across certain spoilers here and there and to be honest I don't always mind. In certain cases if I wanted to discuss and understand the ending, I say SPOILERS and then write what was featured there.
