Do you know someone like this?

One of my best friends is a chick that I've been really close with for over 10 years now. She is without question the most well-intentioned person I've ever known.

She's also not dumb. She has two degrees and does well for herself and speaks two different languages.

She has also become my "movie buddy", so to speak, even though we have vastly different tastes and are always compromising.

Now, I'm only bragging her up in such a way, to put into context how baffling it is to me that, just in a general sense, she hasn't heard of doesn't pay attention to seemingly ANYTHING.

Whenever I bring up some current event, she hasn't heard anything about it yet. If I mention a famous band from before like 1995, she has no clue who they are. The other night I brought up Edgar Allan Poe in a conversation and she said "Hmm the name sounds familiar.."
