Why do more people (especially Americans) not own a bidet?
A bidet is a necessity for me. I feel grossed out not having one. Yuck!

shareExpensive to install. Never been a part of older, standard American homes. Retrofitting for one is expensive. Only luxury, custom homes generally have them. A handheld shower attachment does the job.
shareUm, I went on Amazon and it seems most are around $30 to $100 Canadian. Pretty affordable. Seems pretty easy to install. Here's a link to one with great reviews: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0B18H4HMR/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A1ETXUVAQDAWT1&psc=1&th=1
share$30 and installed it myself.

what if you have to take a crap at work or in an airport?
shareHold it in until you come home. I hate doing #2 in public places anyway.
sharei guess you don't travel much.
shareIf you do crap in public do you line the toilet seat with toilet paper?
shareI squirt the hell out of it with hand sanitizer then take an huge wad of paper towels and wipe it.
ETA: Or if I have my big pocketbook with me I spray the hell out of it with the small can of Lysol that I carry then take a huge wad of paper towels and wipe it.

Do you even read your trash? You are asking, βWhy donβt more people refuse to own bidets?β
Is that what you meant to ask, Pookie?
I have one. Rarely use it unless things get super messy. If you frequently have messy bowel movements, you probably need more fiber in your diet.

No need. Installed my toilet on the third floor and have a terrycloth banister right by it to slide down.
