Most covers sound pretty similar for this song, other than Primus. It would be nice to see someone change this song up, with a good acoustic version. The problem is it's a lot of older singers rehashing the same sound. This song needs a younger, (non)country singer to rearrange it.

I wasn't overly enthusiastic with this cover, it's pretty average, maybe you right and there's no much do to with this song. It's good song for theatrical singers, what do you think on Michelle Lambert cover? look like she good with the fiddle

As you most of the times I prefer the simple covers. I prefer Natalie Stovall cover more than your first choice. I didn't hear about her until today.

I'm not sure what to say about this song. Terry Jacks lent the rights to Westlife, some boy band. There are so many covers of this song. I can't find anything original right now. This might take some time.
