Half the world watched the world cup final. Only 26 mil Americans did

And I'm guessing a whole bunch of that 26 mil were Latinos, many born outside of the US.

How sad we are. 😥

reply

The fact that adults watch professional sports at all is what's sad. Fuck 'em.

reply

Yep. I have zero interest in watching millionaires chase a ball around.

reply

This is America and the majority of us don't like Soccer. Stop trying to change that.

reply

If half the world watched it, that means Americans should tune in too.

reply

No it doesn't.

reply

I am Canadian and I missed it.

reply

I don’t watch ice hockey, but that doesn’t make it a bad game.

reply

This was the first World Cup that I watched really closely (My oldest son is a soccer player). I really enjoyed it...coming from a baseball/basketball/football/golf background, I really have grown to appreciate just how talented soccer players are.

I think soccer is starting to become more popular in the U.S. I see a big difference with my boys' generation compared to mine. We didn't even have soccer teams in school when I was growing up. You're starting to see more athletic kids (who would've played other sports had they grown up when I did) starting to play soccer now. The next World Cup will be interesting, as I believe it's supposed to be hosted here in North America.

reply

Yes, and more teams. I like with soccer it can feel like a team is going to win and bam, the other team scores in the final minutes.

reply

No game that involves a ball is worth a fuck.

Who chases a ball? A dog chases a ball.

reply

Because it captivates us.

⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

reply

Soccer is boring. They run up and down a field kicking a ball until it accidentally goes into net. It's basically dumbed down basketball.

reply

Accidents are part of the fun of goals. It's a game of drama.

reply

In that case, so is Pachinko. Pachinko is a game of drama!

reply

Those crazy Japanese 🫠

reply

I was in Japan in the 80s, and it seemed Pachinko was more popular than soccer.

reply

because The NHL and NFL Season are going still Those are my sports
