Even though they first became popular in the late 80s, I'll say REM. They came out with some great stuff in the 90s.

I liked Counting Crows' music a lot as well.

I really, really miss the music of the 90s. No one has mentioned the Gin Blossoms yet, but I loved what I heard from them also (A friend of mine saw them in concert back in 1993...he said they were excellent and really rocked). "Until I Fall Away" is one of my all-time favorite songs:
