Do people still write checks these days?

Yes.

I don't understand why someone would say "electronic is so much safer." From the news, it sounds like there are a billion nerds doing nothing but hacking "electronic" stuff all day (and financed by bad countries - or, I should say, "worse" countries...)

There is Nothing unsafe about checks,
Also remember venmo is now taxed

Besides i like writing birthday checks,

If I'm sending money in a card, I won't send cash, I'll send a cheque.

I still write about 5 or 6 checks a month. Most of my monthly bills, like cable, utilities, insurance, are on auto pay with Amex or Visa. I get points for that - makes sense to me to pay them that way..

I don't agree that electronic is safer - I prefer to have as few fingers in my accounts as possible - the only bill that I pay directly from my accounts is Amex - for everything else, I write a check.
