Boromir's guess the famous game #839 - Edwin Booth - Johnny's far more famous/accomplished bro (before the assassination, anyhoo)

I'm thinking of some famous figure, it can be a philosopher, politician, entertainer, scientist, fictional character, criminal, animal, being, etc.
1. You need to ask me a yes or no question about this person, for example, "Is the person still alive?," "Does the person work in the entertainment industry?," any question you can think of that helps you to reveal the answer. The host answers with yes or no only.
2. Maximum 1 question and 2 guesses per player per answer.
3. The winner can either start a new game or say "pass." In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another.
4. Can't edit a question or guess once posted. Delete ONLY.

Edwin Thomas Booth (November 13, 1833 – June 7, 1893) was an American actor who toured throughout the United States and the major capitals of Europe, performing Shakespearean plays. In 1869, he founded Booth's Theatre in New York.[2] Some theatrical historians consider him the greatest American actor, and the greatest Prince Hamlet, of the 19th century.[3] His achievements are often overshadowed by his relationship with his younger brother, actor John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated the 16th US President, Abraham Lincoln.

Taking a look at his Wikipedia entry, I see this, I never knew about it even though I lived near Gramercy Park for a few years.

Interesting guess !

I thought you were going for presidential assassinations.

Edwin was such an eminent actor in his era, its a shame his horrendous brother is the one remembered by history.

Edwin Booth pulled Robert Lincoln, Abe's eldest and only surviving son, off the tracks before an oncoming train.

Eddy was an ardent Unionist who fought bitterly with John during the war, by the way. Family divided thing.

reply

That is definitely history I did not know:)
