What is your favourite song by a fictional band?

Movie or TV?

I have a few.

Fever Dog - Stillwater - Almost Famous

I have 2 from Rock Star but since We All Die Young was an actual song by Steelheart, I can't really call the Steel Dragon version that fictional. But I do like:
Colorful - Chris Cole Band (performed by The Verve Pipe)

And the 80s Canadian kid in me can never resist...

I like this one:

Most of their songs were lame and boring, but this one was pretty good:

Velvet Goldmine

And I finally found Catwalk on YouTube!!! Wow. Neve Campbell in one of her first roles. This show was so cheesy but I loved it. The only thing this is missing is Atlas dancing (and rapping??) but I don't feel like searching the episodes.

I would have to say " I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow" by the Soggy Bottom Boys. I love the acoustic version more than I do the "full band" version...great guitar playing on this one:

Holyyy sheeeiiitttt, I completely pasted the wrong url. lol. Edited it. Should make better sense now. *facepalm*

reply

Hahaha. Makes more sense. I was so confused as I mean sure they aren't Radiohead, but they are still a band. This band however...totally fits. Love it!

Now that is the very definition of a "bad trip."

The group XTC recorded a six song album under the band name The Dukes Of Stratosphear without any mention of who the real musicians were. The audience was to believe these were lost tracks from a late 60s psychedelic group. The gag seemed to work for a short period, and today many fans of the group find the two Dukes eps as good or better than their regular releases.

The first song is from the second ep Psonic Psunspot. The vid is a fan contribution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a14n6Nqih4s

This one is from the first ep, 25 O'Clock. It has a funny bit at the very end which is why I chose it but I'd say it's representative. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbFXF5NpCuA
