Taco Bell's "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion is a scam


In the past, when a player stole a base during the World Series you could get a free taco by mentioning it. Now they make you go through these steps to take part in the promotion:
• Download the "app."
• Join the "Taco Bell Rewards" program.
• Once you have completed these steps you are able to redeem the "free" taco.

This is nothing but another means of collecting data and tracking their customers. There is no reason why anyone needs to provide personal information just to get a lousy taco. There is too much invasion of privacy these days.

On a related note, my local Taco Bell recently reopened after a couple of months of "remodeling." I went there a few of days ago and there was a sign on the counter saying that this is now a "kiosk only" store. You have to use these stupid screens to place an order. So I walked out.

I order my food face-to-face with a real person... no drive-throughs, kiosks or dealing with some machine. There have been too many instances of wrong orders or missing items in the past. And I pay in cash because it allows me to remain anonymous, plus it's foolish to use my debit card for a small purchase amount.

I have been going to this Taco Bell since the 90s. Their staff was always friendly and efficient, a pleasure to interact with, and I can count on one hand the number of times I ever had a problem with their service in all those years.

I went to their website and left this message for the corporate clown who made this decision: "You just lost my business."

In the end the cashiers have something roughly equal to the kiosk, to put your order in just less user friendly,
In practice most people just want food, an the human element doesn't make orders better, just improvescustomer experience. Unless the cashiers don't speak english.

Corporate ruins everything good, they always want moremmoney but since they aren't in the trenches they say i has briliant idea,blets fire al your staff and replace them with kiosks

With the human element you are directly placing an order. You can tell them what toppings or condiments you want on a cheeseburger, and if you have a coupon they can enter the discount. How does one accomplish this with a kiosk? And how are you supposed to pay if you have cash? That's why I gave up on drive-throughs years ago... if you have a coupon or a special order, good luck trying to explain it through a speaker. It resulted in too many incorrect orders and/or missing items, so I always make it a point to go inside and order at the counter.

Yes, corporate ruins everything. A bunch of pencil-pushers who have never worked the actual job think they are experts at it because they spend all day staring at numbers on a screen.

Most apps for ordering food give you the option of adding/removing condiments or a section for adding special requests, so I'm assuming a kiosk would as well. Coupons are usually scannable or have a code on them that you would enter at the kiosk.

I'm against automation as well, just addressing those two points.

What i was trying to explain was that it doesn't
Matter how well uyou explain yourorder if there isn't a way to put in the system the human element ends at the cashier who puts your order in the system.
