Whatever series is your favorite be it Friday the 13th, Star Wars, Harry Potter which one of the movies do you think should be deleted from our memories to make the series better?
It's not a bad movie by any means. Indeed, it's better than any other Alien movie except the two first ones. But I wanted to see what happened to the characters after the end of the second one. Alien3 kill all of them but Ripley in the first minutes.
Yeah it's my least favorite Alien film. It seems the writers were too lazy to figure out how to use Newt and Hicks in this setting. Just kill 'em off. But Covenant did the same thing with Shaw. In some ways I would lean toward removing Covenant. It really doesn't add anything to Prometheus or anything new for the franchise, but I agree Alien 3.
NO WAY YOU...RESSURECTION HAS A JOSS WHEDON PENNED SCRIPT AND THE STYLE OF JEAN-PIERRE JEUNET,ALONG WITH SOME OF HIS REGULAR ACTORS...IT MAY NOT BE A GREAT FILM...BUT IT IS A TON OF FUN.
Mission Impossible 2 got too ridiculous with the face masks. Different body sizes? Man or woman? It doesn't matter, a mask can fool anyone.
the other 2 were just unnecessary.
It's actually harder than I thought. Most of the time deleting just 1 movie from a franchise wouldn't actually improve it much. Deleting just one movie from Star Wars for example, ain't gonna do nothing. You have to delete EVERYTHING not the original trilogy to have an effect.
The other times, deleting one movie won't change much because it's not important anyway. Like, The Godfather 3 might be the worst of the trilogy, but having it intact never ruined The Godfather series anyway, so deleting it won't make the whole thing better.
That said, I think the only movies I can come up are:
Iron Man 3
TDKR
With Bourne series, at least I have to delete two movies to make an improvement:
The Bourne Legacy and Jason Bourne
Only removing one of them is not enough.
Ah, a couple more...
WW'84
Deadpool 2
But it's not really fair to remove one movie from a two-movie series, is it?
I think that the removal of The Last Jedi would do the most good to the ruined SW series. It would still have 7 bad movies in its run but at least we wouldn't have light speed ramming, coward Luke, flying Leia, and force ghosts that can effect RL. At least the rest were dogshit in the same universe.
I strongly disliked Jeremy Renner's Bourne Legacy. In all of the movies he's in that I've seen, only in The Hurt Locker that I found his acting decent. Everything else was meh. I also think Hawkeye was the weakest casting they did for the Avengers. He has zero charisma.
Other than the fact that I liked his Bourne movie, I agree with what you say. The other Bourne movies were bad. His was better written and directed. Him? Yeah, meh.
EDIT: Caveat. I don't quite agree that he was the worst casting of an Avenger. He gets 2nd. Johanson was a bad choice for Widow. I like her more than Renner as an actor and she is nice to look at but she is super blah as BW. At least nu-Widow has the accent.
It's a fair point though there are some nerdy comic book rebuttals possible (but still fair). My chief complaint is that she is lifeless in the role. She seemed alive for a blip on the radar when they connected her to Hulk with the "Sun's going down" thing. Then that fizzled into the blandness too.
But I think that was the fault of the directors / writers that they don't know what to do with the Black Widow character and not necessarily from the casting of Scarjo.
Any other actress playing Black Widow would be a blip on the radar when they connected her to Hulk then fizzle again into the nigh... I mean, blandness.
Black Widow and Hawkeye in hindsight should have no business hanging with world's most overpowered superheroes againts gods and aliens and whatnot. It's actually pretty hard to insert these two characters to prominent use in the Avenger movies.
So true. Crystal Skull is so WTF. Ya know as much as I love the original trilogy Return of the Jedi is pretty weak compared to New Hope and Empire. Just recycled New Hope for the most part. I agree on the others although I have seen all of them even Solo.
I liked Timothy Dalton, and I liked Casino Royale, but the other Daniel Craig Bond film I tried to watch was garbage, poisoned with the ridiculous action sequences akin to the Mission Impossible films.
I WATCHED EVERY CONNERY FILM...LIKED THEM ALL FOR THE MOST PART...I THEN BEGAN TO WORK THROUGH THE OTHER BONDS AND MORE OR LESS SURRENDERED AS I WAS NOT ENJOYING ANY OF THEM...THAT SAID SPY STUFF ISN'T A TOP GENRE FOR ME,SO I WAS PROBABLY NEVER GOING TO LOVE SERIES AS A WHOLE.
My sincerest condolences for you. You have my deepest sympathy and unwavering support. Wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love. My heart goes out to you at all times.
I DO REALLY ENJOY RESURRECTION THOUGH...I SAW IT IN THE THEATER TOO...IN THOSE DAYS I WENT TO THE THEATER WEEKLY WITH MY MOTHER...SHE IS DEAF NOW SO SHE WATCHS EVERYTHING ON DISC WITH SUBTITLES.
Have to agree with you about the Halloween franchise.
The first one is masterpiece.
Halloween 2 is a good sequel that captures some of the tension of the first.
Halloween 3 is a good movie. Very different than the first two. It stands just fine on its own despite no MM.
The rest are absolute garbage in my opinion. I did enjoy Halloween 2018 though.
