Worst movie staring your favorite actor

My favorite actor is Cary Grant. His worst movie was The Howards of Virginia.

reply

I've never heard of that movie. One of my favorite actors is Dame Judi Dench - her worst movie? Cats. Also, Tom Hanks - worst movie? Mazes and Monsters from 1982.

reply

Cats is awful. Mazes and Monsters was very early Tom Hanks, but is still pretty bad.

reply

I give actors a pass on bad movies very early in their careers. At that stage, they probably have to take whatever roles they're offered. I imagine many actors take roles that they think will be good, only to find out later that it's not what they hoped for.

Gary Oldman - Tiptoes (2002)

MY FAVORITE ACTOR IS PAUL NEWMAN.HIS WORST FILM WAS HIS FIRST...THE SILVER CHALICE...THE FILM THAT ALMOST RETIRED HIM BEFORE HE GOT STARTED.

reply

I actually could have included Cary Grants earlier films with Mae West, but they are Mae West films that Grant has small roles in.

reply

UNFORTUNATELY THERE WERE TWO ROLES...SILVER CHALICE AND REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE AND TWO YOUNG ACTORS UP FOR THE TWO ROLES...DEAN ENDED UP WITH REBEL AND NEWMAN WITH CHALICE...BOTH STARRING ROLES BUT THE TWO FILMS ARE OF VERY DIFERENT QUALITY.

Well my favorite musical artist is David Bowie. So I was eager to see "The Man Who Fell to Earth" in which he acts. It was a miserably boring movie and even Bowie couldn't save it.

reply

Good acting in a bad film.

reply

I saw it years ago but his entire presence in that film was meh.

reply

One of my favorite actors is Paul Newman.

I have tried three times and have yet to finish Quintet (79), Newman's only sci-fi movie.

reply

Two of my favourite actors - Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins - are in Misconduct (2016). It’s so bad I can’t finish it, and I can’t imagine how these two legends ended up in such a turd.

reply

I can’t recall ANY movie that featured staring; maybe Dracula. When he was seducing a maiden.

But I recall a lot of posts where the OP couldn’t be bothered to proof-read.

Literacy always matters, I don’t care if in a business communication, a text message, a message board post or in a fortune cookie. Literacy tells your reader how much you respect her/him and yourself.
