Biggest sport in your country?
Here in England it's football, what's yours?
I'll have a few guesses,
USA. Baseball?
Canada. Ice hockey?

Your guess of baseball would have been correct until the advent of televised sports in the 60s, which made baseball seem slow and static and nonviolent compared to the adrenaline rush of football. Still though, it remains very popular, as it does have its moments of spectacular athleticism and tense drama, a la an actual goal being scored in soccer (what you would call, "football").
1. Football
2. Baseball
3. College basketball
4. Pro basketball
5. Hockey
Seems strange that college basketball is ahead of pro basketball.
Are they as good? Why is it more popular? do they ever play each other?
Nearly every school has a team and a devoted fan following. The largest schools fill huge arenas. The players aren't as good as the pros, but the game is more exciting. Most of the fans in the stands are excitable college students, while at the pro games you have a much older crowd looking for something to do with their leisure time.
sharePro (American) Football is where it's at here in the US, when it comes to spectator sports. Baseball has been slowly declining for decades.
shareIt still gets good ratings if the Yankees are in the Series. And the local team gets a lot of support! The 162-game season is the best thing in sports, if you really think about it (and football can only give you 17 games per season?).
