How do I get a better taste in music?
Just wondering
shareI think it's difficult these days. I learned about music from listening to the radio for 50+ years. But then they used to play some very good music of many different types depending on the Radio Station and the particular program.
I wouldn't worry about it, just listen to what you enjoy listening to and don't take it too personally if not everyone else gets it.
shareListen to public-supported (non-commercial), community or college/university stations. These are usually located on the low end of the FM band starting at 87.9 MHz.
share"Better" as applied to "taste" is subjective. Taste is taste. Better or worse are only opinions. Jam on with your R&B.
Listen to some different stuff people recommend to expand your taste. But your taste is your own. It isn't good or bad. Its yours. When people say "you have good taste" it only means that they think that it is similar to theirs.
I never liked Metallica but I borrowed a DVD of their performance with the S.F. Symphony and somehow it makes their music a bit more palatable. At least less headache inducing.
