Boromir's guess the famous game #379 [Brother Cadfael is the famous character, cyberbob wins!]

1. I'm thinking of some famous figure, it can be a philosopher, politician, entertainer, scientist, fictional character, criminal, animal, being, etc.
2. You need to ask me a yes or no question about this person, for example, "Is the person still alive?," "Does the person work in the entertainment industry?," any question you can think of that helps you to reveal the answer. The host answers with yes or no only.
3. Maximum 1 question and 2 guesses per player per answer.
4. The winner can either start a new game or say "pass." In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another.
5. Can't edit a question or guess once posted. Delete ONLY.

Cyberbob wins a well-earned victory by sleuthing out Brother Cadfael, protagonist of the novel series "The Cadfael Chronicles" and the TV series "Cadfael" which adapted many of the books. Brother Cadfael is a Benedictine monk and herbalist living in an abbey in 12th-century England, who uses his knowledge to help solve murders during the period of civil war known as The Anarchy.

Written by Agatha Christie?

reply

Keep at it, you're on the right track.

:D

Inspector Barnaby?

reply

This isn't it, but it's actually an excellent guess and bears some similarity to what I have in mind. Except the author who created Inspector Barnaby is still alive, 90 years old now apparently.

reply

Yeah, that was a sloppy guess tbh haha. But I love Agatha Christie so I would probably enjoy some of these

reply

I recommend it. I first got into the Cadfael series because I like history, but anyone who enjoys murder mysteries should like it even if they don't care about the historical setting. Derek Jacobi of "I, Claudius" fame portrays him in the TV series. I really like the TV show, except that they kept recasting Cadfael's ally Sheriff Hugh Barengar, who had three different actors over the course of the show, really hurting immersion IMO. But I still love the series.

I'll check it out, I love murder mysteries. In high school I read most of Christie's Poirot series. And the premise of a medieval monk detective is something I have to see for myself

reply

Cool! I'm always glad when I'm able to get someone interested in something with these games.
