I understand and respect differing levels of intelligence, but this one shocked me. If one understands anything about a black hole at all - recognizes the words - I would think the answer would be very obvious.

shareI do public star parties and there are a lot of new-age kinds out there with all kinds of touchy-feely thoughts about the cosmos. Questions like this don't really surprise me but you'd probably find some humor in the kinds of "Well, I think..." answer you get back from those people. For as much as people scoff about the flat earth crowd they have a lot of "Science!" people who've licked too much snozberry wallpaper too.
