StoneKeeper's Fun Guessing Game: I Recommend THIS Movie #1920 [nyctc7 goes into the books with BICKFORD SHMECKLER'S COOL IDEAS]

I already had something in store for this round, but last night I stumbled across a movie that took me by surprise. Hence, I am shining the spotlight on this pick.

I have a movie in mind and you have to guess which one it is. For each movie you guess, I will give a hint that connects your guess with the movie I have in mind.

For each guess, a connection is posted. Example of connections: Actor, length, genre, aspect ratio, language, country, year, director, actor, writer in common, rating, number of votes, nominations. It can even be something like: both movies involve Cabbage Patch Kids. Also, you can use Metascore color or rating, Rotten Tomatoes score, any award wins or nominations in common, same number of words in the title, plot keywords. Note: "Plot" in the IMDB advanced search links to "Plot Summary" on the film's page. "Keyword" in the advanced search links to "Plot Keyword" on the film's page.

Helpful search engine: https://www.imdb.com/search/title/ Click on Feature Film and TV Movie. Then modify for the hints as they are posted.

- The winner can either start a new game or say "pass". In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another one.
- After 12 hints and 15 incorrect guesses the point goes to the OP and he/she gets to start another one.
- Movie must have at least 3500 IMDB votes. Otherwise, add a bonus hint. No documentaries.
- Maximum 2 guesses per player per hint.
- Can't edit a guess once posted. Delete ONLY
- Post one Hint at a time.

Let's get it on!

****UNDER 3500 VOTES****

Hint 1: House of the Gorgon (2019) - Director has writing credit.
Hint 2: Tout Va Bien (1972) - VFA runtime under 2 hours.
Hint 3: Sword of the Beast (1965) - Director is deceased.
Hint 4: Johnny O'Clock (1947) - Oscar nominee in the cast.
Hint 5: Night Tide (1961) - Romance.
Hint 6: The Man in Grey (1943) - Four word title.
Hint 7: Chilly Scenes of Winter (1979) - Over 1,000 IMDB user votes.
Hint 8: Mon père, ce héros (1991) - Comedy.
Hint 9: The Pirates of Penzance (1983) - USA/English.
Hint 10: The Facts of Life (1960) - IMDB rating is 6.4 or below.

It had its stops and starts, but finally nyctc7 lands on the keen pick of Bickford Shmeckler's Cool Ideas (2006).

Here is a movie that defies expectations. What starts out as a standard comedy slowly morphs into an existential character piece. It goes places from there that I will not detail because part of this movie's fun is in the discovery. Olivia Wilde and Patrick Fugit anchor this movie with a deadpan whimsy while a cavalcade of capable actors (including John Cho, Matthew Lillard, and the Oscar-nominated Chris Weitz, he of Chuck & Buck fame) bring weight to the supporting roles.

I think every moment of this movie is worth savoring because it exceeds the sum of its parts. Watch it on various free streaming platforms like Tubi, Plex, or wherever else it's available. For anyone who chooses to seek out these cool ideas, buckle up for a fun time!
