He wasn't welcome in the gaybourhood.

(The sound might be a little too loud)

She isn't insane but what bothers me is that she thinks she has the right to tell people to fuck off from " the gaybourhood ". By the same token religious people ( in this case a Christian ) are asking for trouble when they deliberately go to a gay area and start preaching. So I get why the woman was "triggered" but her response was infantile, literally.

reply

But that's the purpose of preaching. To preach to others that do not conform to your beliefs (yet.) When you only preach to the choir you're doing it wrong.

reply

In that case does Richard Dawkins have the right to go into a church service and start preaching atheism and would the congregation be out of order if they objected ?

reply

Does he have the right? It depends on the law, but in the probably not. He might get arrested by the police.

On the other hand, the congregations probably won't have the right to prosecute him either. They might get arrested too if they do. The so called "rights" are just what they are according to the law, that differ depending on the location.

But if he does it no matter what then yes it is preaching all right.

reply

I wish there was a longer clip that started earlier to see why she started yelling.

reply

Well, if he's going around telling gay people they need to be saved by Jesus, then it's perfectly understandable if folk would like him to leave the immediate area. That part's rational enough. The screaming is weird.

She's having a moment of controlled lunacy; his lunacy is probably a lifetime's worth.

reply

It sounds like she screaming before he started recording and wanted to get her craziness on film. I don't think he was referring to needing Jesus in terms of her being gay. I think he was referring to her childish yelling.

reply

According to the video description, he's a preacher. He appears to have a placard (just visible in the bottom right corner of the screen), which is almost certain to be the reason she has come across to him to tell him he is unwelcome.

He tells her supercilliously 'That's why I need to be here' when she tells him it's 'the gaybourhood'. He then goes on to tell her that god can change her heart so that 'she loves what god loves.'

I don't think we need Sherlock Holmes levels of inductive reasoning to understand what's going on in the video. And I don't think, on balance of probability, your interpretation is likely to be the correct one.

reply

I didn't notice the caption. There is also a link there to a longer video of his where she complains of him being loud and he shouldn't be walking the street because of a stay at home order, which she is both guilty of herself. He is entitled to preach if he likes. It's in public. I have people who aren't from my religion knocking to preach the word of their god, but I don't find it offensive. I just tell them I'm not interested.

reply

Yes. They're both entitled to express themselves.

But I don't think it's the fact that he's 'preaching' that she is objecting to. I think it's what he's preaching she's objecting to. And that he's (probably) legally entitled to do it, doesn't make him morally right to do it.

0/10
Not insane. She gave an appropriate response. Especially if this guy has been camping out there for months as these types often do.

In her gaybourhood, YAHHHHHHHH means Shut The Phuck Up And Get Off My Lawn You Interloping Troublemaking Mother Phucker.

reply

It's hard to know from this video what he did, or if he did anything at all. I think her response is childish regardless. By screaming, people are going to think she's getting raped.

reply

They are both horrible. People have a right to hold inflammatory religious signs on sidewalks and people who are offended have the right to scream. No one wins here. My best advice is for everyone to mind their own business. Its a free country.

reply

Unfortunately with the video, we can't see what happened beforehand. It seemed he was telling her she needed Jesus because she was screaming, not because she was part of the gaybourhood.

reply

She's a 10/10. Total looney tunes, and a moron also!

🤨

reply

This is lazy NPC writing. She barely has a couple of lines of dialogue before entering the screaming loop.

reply

Nobody comes out looking good.

reply

Are you serious? She's got those Freddie Mercury vocals. I'd say she won in that area.

reply

Nah! It was just another version of *fingers in ears* “I’m not listening - na-na, na-naa-naa!”

reply

6/10. Avoid interaction, have Taser at the ready if interaction is unavoidable.
