Yes. I tried a couple of the boards that users were recommending as potential alternatives. There was even one that was by invitation only. MovieChat was the only one that seemed to have much activity; the others didn't appear to catch on.

Yes, and really missed it. Found this place by chance about eight months ago.

Yes. Not under this name. But I was on the IMDb boards for almost 1,000,000 years. (Mostly Film General.)

At the time they closed down, I wasn't watching many movies. As memory serves, I was mostly camped out on the Music General board for the last 18 months or so of the message boards' existence. Consequently, I didn't immediately seek out an IMDb replacement.

I got back into serious movie watching during the lockdowns, and eventually felt it would be nice to occasionally talk about them with strangers... so here I am.
