The Batman or Spider-Man: No Way Home?
Which of the two are you anticipating the most? Personally I'm way more excited for The Batman.

shareI don’t look forward to comic book movies. I tried the latest incarnation of Spider-man and turned it off when Zendaya went into her spiel about the Washington Monument being built by slaves. Tell me how that is escapist fare?
sharei'm a massive spider-man fan, so i'll always be more excited for anything with him.
i really liked matt reeves' ape movies, especially the last one.
but i heard that the run time for the batman is bumping up against three hours. if that's true, then there's absolutely no way i'll watch it in a theatre. i am not invested enough in the character to spend three hours with him. there's really nothing i enjoy so much that i want to spend three hours doing it.
I honestly don't see the final cut of the film being 3 hours, it'll probably go up to 2 and a half hours. Remember, they were only test screenings and test screenings for films tend to be longer than its final cut. But I'm honestly completely down with a 3 hr batman film.
shareyou're likely right. there were similar rumblings that tenet was going to be 3+ hours a half year before it was released. it's probably the case that what ends up released will be tightened up.
shareYeah even a while back I was expecting something a little less like 2h 20m mainly due to this film only being the first in a supposedly new trilogy, so I wouldn't expect something that lengthy. However I did find out that there were over 160 pages in the script and each page in a screenplay estimates to about a minute of screen time so there's actually a good chance this could clock in at almost 3 hrs. I'm still sure itll be cut down to 2h 40 or 30 mins.
shareMeh, Batman is boring now. The Animated Series was excellent, dark, and perfect. I'll watch a live-action Batman Beyond movie, otherwise I'll pass.
shareI mean the last few films we had featuring Batman like BvS and Justice League weren't really great but that doesn't necessarily effect the future of the character on film and by making him "boring"
shareThe Dark Knight trilogy is perfect. Why do we need more batman movies? Been there, done that. Time for Batman Beyond and no more Bruce Wayne.
shareThe Dark Knight trilogy is perfect yes. I think The Dark Knight is the greatest comic book film ever made and one of the best films ever. Will it be topped? Probably not and do we actually need more films to do justice for the character? No not really but we're obviously gonna get more Batman films regardless due to the popularity of the character and I am more than ok with that. Matt Reeves is a fantastic director. What he has done with Cloverfield, Planet of the Apes, and Let Me In are remarkable achievements. So I think this Batman film is in good hands.
I get where your coming from regarding a Batman film without Bruce Wayne but.... Bruce Wayne IS Batman! Yes I know there's different iterations of the character in the comics but I honestly don't think they should do a live action portrayal of a Batman that is not Bruce Wayne. I'd rather perfer either an animated movie like they did with Spiderverse or a live action TV series but I really don't think we should get a live action non Bruce Wayne Batman film. If it does happen, then a trend will most likely continue down the line of more Batman films without Bruce Wayne and more iterations of Batman. This is will take away the depth and intimacy behind the character of Batman overall. The arch of the ego of Batman is Bruce Wayne's story. When people think of Batman they're supposed to think of Bruce Wayne. That's the way it's supposed to be.
Spider Man
shareHomecoming was so awful, I never bothered checking out Far From Home. Unless No Way Home is confirmed to have the other two spideys, I'm not gonna bother.
