Do any of you play video games?

Just wondering

reply

Are you going to be asking everyone to rate video games now? kek.

Just started playing Ark: Survival Evolved on the Lan with my hubby. Fun game.

reply

Nah, just asking these old timers if they play video games

The original Prince of Persia dos game on computer was my favourite as a kid. I played it recently, still holds up. I really liked the tomb raider games from the 90's as well.

reply

That's the only game I never finished. I became frustrated at having to restart a long level from scratch after a fail. That one needed a save feature. Otherwise, it was a good game.

reply

Nah, save feature would have made it to easy.

reply

It could have been an option.

The game had save points within levels which would be lost if you turned off the game before completing the level. Redoing a 20+ minute level repeatedly was torture.

I've replayed one level in GTA: San Andreas 60+ times, but at least they made me restart within the level instead of from scratch.

A few here and there nowadays. I like the Total War games a lot, well the older ones like Rome 1, Medieval 2, Empire and Empire: Napoleon. Those games have always helped me with my geography. I really enjoy RPG/adventure games too. Currently just started the Outer Worlds (bought it on a Steam Sale) and a couple hours in, but it's pretty good so far. I generally only play a few hours a week so it takes me a long time to beat games. There are of course some games that are so good that I do play a lot more, but that is rare. Sometimes I like to play old Sega or NES games with an emulator. Recently beat Castlevania 2 for NES which I forgot how ridiculous some of the puzzles are in that game; definitely had to look up a walkthrough. Been playing some Sonic 2 also here and there.

I am also limited to just games you can play on PC. After the PS2 came out I decided I wasn't going to buy consoles anymore since they were getting ridiculously expensive. I would rather build a good PC rig that lasts 10 years with a minor upgrade or two than have to buy several consoles. Most games are ported to PC nowadays anyway (although that's not always a good thing).

reply

I do, on my PC. WW2 combat flight sims.

Yes, in fact I even made a video game with the help of the RPGmaker Ace program. I draw and write and I hope to get into video game creating one day. I have a lot of unique ideas.

reply

Hell yeah, everyday! Playing Dark Souls 3 on my Xbox one currently and just finished the main campaign. Gonna do the 2 DLCs next and then a NG+ for fun, after which it'll either be Bioshock Infinite or Deus Ex Mankind Divided.

reply

Definitely. Just recently started playing Yakuza Kiwami on PS4 and I'm pleasantly surprised on how good of a game it is because it's not really a game or series I hear people talk about much.

reply

Yeah 👍 I’m currently obsessing over DDO and 7 Days to Die. Very different games but I love playing them with friends.
