I just can't wait until it starts snowing again.
shareHopefully you can "experience " the rain soon again .
shareWell, we have a chance of rain this weekend, but I've heard that story before. Just yesterday, the hydroelectric dam on the Mississippi River was shut down because water volume was too low. I live only about a mile from the river. This is the worst drought here in Minnesota since 1988 and I was around for that one. Not just lack of rain then, but high temps, too.
This year, by the end of June I got the feeling that we were in for a repeat of 1988. The 1930s dust bowl years were bad, of course, but methods of measuring weather events were different back then. That's why experts are saying that this year is as bad as then and likely worse.
I have read right now a little bit about Minnesota and the Mississippi. I had no idea that the Mississippi also flows in the north of the USA, I thought only in the south.
Anyway, hopefully you can report better news soon.
Here, in Texas, itβs been raining a lot lately.
shareIt's been quite warm and rainy here in New York...perfect combo for tomatoes, lawns and pumpkins
I feel bad for you folks out West
I do, too. As bad as it is here, it's worse out west. Yes, we have wildfires in northern Minnesota but so far, they're confined to the arrowhead area - nothing like what they're dealing with out west. But just yesterday our governor activated the National Guard to help fight the fires in Minnesota.
shareit has been brutally, violently hot here the last 5 days, but it's set to finally break on friday, with the temps going down to the low 20s/high teens, cloudy skies and a good amount of rain. and i cannot wait.
this has been the most brutal, endless, grindingly miserable....worst summer of my life. awful. i hate every second of this trash season. die die die summer.
Today is August 18th. It's exactly five weeks until the first day of fall (September 22nd).
