π Woohoo! π Hooray π Iβm ready! π
shareI did not realize. I'm still kind of reeling from the NFC championship game. I actually stopped following the Packers closely like I used to after that. I'm just not going to get emotionally invested as much as I used to, but I'll still watch the games. Just not checking the news daily. Good to see Rodgers back, though.
sharethe most meaningless field goal in the history of football
sharejust three pre season games this year. which is good.
shareI have mixed feelings about this. I'm glad they converted a meaningless pre-season game into one that counts, but I was hoping that either (a) the regular season would have started one week earlier, or (b) they would have eliminated the bye week.
I don't like the regular season ending in January, and the playoffs and Super Bowl now being delayed by an extra week. And having an odd number of games messes up the 8 home/8 away schedule format. Teams with the 9th home game will have an advantage. And, please, no additional night games.
it is a half measure i would have preferred 18-2. i hate pre-season and i wished they would start the season on the labor day weekend.
shareThe 18-2 format makes more sense. Then things would be fair because every team would have nine home and nine away games.
I don't know why they don't play on Labor Day (or technically Sunday, the day before Labor Day) because they play on other holidays like Thanksgiving and sometimes Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. They should have the season start on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend (get rid of the Thursday night games) and eliminate the bye weeks. Then there could be 18 regular-season games without the playoffs starting in mid-January.
Personally I can't see the 17-game format lasting, mainly because of the teams with the extra home game having an advantage over the others. Don't be surprised if there's a return to the 16-game schedule.
i think the 17 game format is here to stay. too much money involved.
shareWasn't much of a game but it sure beat Olympic volleyball. Didn't know Dak messed himself up all over again.
shareMy husband and I went out for the evening and recorded the game. He is a life -long Cowboys fan.
I don't care if I know the outcome before we watch the game this evening, but I won't tell him - especially with Dad being hurt. Ouch.

We're actually only half-way through it. August 6th is the midpoint of summer. There's roughly six and a half weeks until the first day of fall.
I know, but the kids are going back to school in two weeks and most pools/waterparks close the day after Labor Day - summer seems over by that point.
It's a state of mind that has very little do do with calendar dates - at least where I live and we have 4 distinct seasons.
