Most important music event (to me) that happened in 1974 - I saw Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in concert for the first time at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City's Lincoln Center on October 4th.
47 years later, my count of Springsteen concerts attended is over 200.

Just going by your lists for 73 and 74, I have to say 73 was a much stronger year!

I would agree with that, I think.. I could have added another 20 albums for each year, but I think 1973 edges out 1974.

Either one of those years produced better music than ALL the albums combined from the last 40 years.
