I Hope they and theirs are faring well

reply

You never have to worry about this kind of weather during the frigid winters. Just saying.

reply

Oh shush, you are 99% popsicle!

reply

Because I melt you?

reply

You seem pretty cute but the 'I Love The Winter' thing is a big turnoff

Plus you're a guy👎

reply

I promise I can change!

reply

Don't be too hasty

Which restroom will you use? Who pays for dinner?? Will you buy a girl's bicycle or a boy's???

This is all very confusing

reply

To answer who's paying for dinner, definitely Kowalski will.

reply

So Taco Bell then...I think I'll pass

reply

Hope they are all alright. I almost passed out last year when it hit 35°c. 50°c would kill me!

reply

we're heading into another heat wave here. starting thursday, it's projected to be 32-34-36-36-35-36-33-32, with overnight 'lows' of 22-23.

i can't tell you how excited i am about that.

but it's not like what they're going through out west, of course.

but it still makes me hate everything.

reply

😄 hot weather makes me a grump too!

reply

I don't understand the love for California. Constant wildfires, droughts, earthquakes and smog. How many other alleged world class places can claim that?

reply

It does sound an unsafe place to live when you put it like that 😄

reply

And Kowalski is there!

reply

Just that would keep most sensible folk away lol

reply

Kowalski is the real CAPITAL of California.

reply

His beard has it's own zip code!!

reply

I would never live in California, Arizona or Florida. Too much heat and very little change of seasons.

reply

I would be so incredibly depressed if I lived there. The same dreary sunshine while putting up with earthquakes and wildfires every week. And 40 million in population in one state? No thanks.

reply

It’s a big state. We don’t have wildfires and earthquakes every week. Those we do have are spread out hundreds of miles apart so we all don’t experience them, some of us never. People are spread out too. If you want urban, you got it. Rural, got that too. Burbs too. It rains in winter and snows in the mountains but you can still go to the beach then too. In California if you want a change of seasons, just take a drive.

reply

I can't deal with the constant heat and sun though.

reply

Yeah I get that. I am originally from New England and miss crisp fall days, snowy Christmas mornings, thunderstorms.

reply

Snow on Christmas is a must for me. There have been a couple of recent years where we didn't get any, or there would be snow in early December and it would all melt right before the 25th. Climate change is ruining everything, including the Christmas season.

The warmer weather from the southern latitudes seems to be creeping northward. Not a good thing.

reply

It depends on where you live in Calif, and the time frame...I grew up in a small town in Calif...80s-90s..It was a good place to be. Great weather, traffic was good then, crime nonexistent, schools top of the line. I lived there for 18 years and only remember 3 small earthquakes, drought was never mentioned.

reply

Those of us in CA are fine. We live in the heat. We know how to survive.

reply

💪

reply

I grew up in CA, love the weather, hate the traffic:)

reply

Traffic ain't bad in the desert.
We have had droughts before too but not quite so many huge fires so often. There is a reason for the big increase in fires but it is a consequence of politics, sadly. It isn't as simple as "dry foliage + heat"

reply

Reno, NV. Well north of Las Vegas, so while we are not getting the absolute worst of it, what is going on here may be unprecedented for the area. Certainly I have not experienced anything like this in the eight years I've lived here.

Temp highs 100-103 (37.5-39.5C) for the last couple of weeks. Right now it's 10:30 am and 88 degrees F, and predicted to hit 100. Friday's high is predicted to be "only" 95 which is the lowest high in at least two weeks, maybe more.

Thank goodness for the low humidity. But HOT is HOT!

reply

"But HOT is HOT!"

Agreed. I'm tired of the old "oh, but it's a dry heat" response. Heat is miserable, period.

I didn't know you lived in Nevada. By your user name I had assumed New York.

reply

Born and grew up in NYC. Moved to Reno in 2013. Looking at the NYC newspapers, boy, am I glad I did.

reply

You were smart to bug out

The Bronx has become a lawless dump once again after many years of progress and you can't even park your car in Manhattan for under 25 bucks

Did you hear that this idiotic City gov't now rents mopeds to any butthead with a credit card? These moped dipshits and the aggressive Kawasaki Kids are clogging the streets and cutting off cars

The agreed upon SOP amongst the boys at work is if you clip one of these dumbskies you just keep driving...maybe their bones will fill in one of the infernal potholes

reply

Its bad here. I feel like heat headache is now my natural state of being. We're a bit luckier here, Monsoon weather has kicked in.

reply

Carnita asada o qué pedo???

reply

Roasted carnita or what a fart???

Huh?
