shareof what movies
shareI own the extended versions of Amadeus and the Lord of the Rings trilogy; and also Ben Hur presented in its original aspect ratio. I have the restored version of Lawrence of Arabia on DVR, thanks to TCM.
I'm always on the lookout for these types of releases. I'm hoping someday there will be an extended version box set of the Harry Potter series. Also a director's cut of Titanic.
I still don't have a BR player.
I suppose Firefly and Serenity would be first.
The new Top Gun Maverick looks cool too.
ZERO...ZILCH...NADA...NONE...I OWN THOUSANDS OF BLU RAYS...BUT I AM CHEAP...I WON'T PAY MORE THAN FIVE BUCKS FOR A BLU RAY USUALLY ...AND EVEN AT FIVE I WOULD BE VERY SELECTIVE.
shareEven when the 70th anniversary Blu Ray of Cool Hand Luke comes out with a hologram of Newman eating eggs you won’t buy it??
shareMANNEQUIN HAS BEEN AVAILABLE ON BLU RAY FOR SOME TIME...I DO NOT HAVE IT AS I HAVENT FOUND A DEAL...ITS LIKE 25 BUCKS ONLINE...THAT IS WAY WAY OUTSIDE OF MY BUDGET.
shareThe Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)
I was a freshman at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 1969 when the actual trial was occurring in Chicago.
One of my roommates was from Chicago, so he was paying close attention to what was going on in the trial through various newspaper reports in The Washington Post as well as Chicago papers.
He would then discuss those reports with me and our other roommate who was from Boston (I was from N.Y.C.).
I saw The Trial of the Chicago 7 via Netflix, and despite my dislike of streaming services, I was impressed with the film.
One of my complaints regarding the use of streaming services to show new films when theaters were closed due to Covid-19 is that those films are not getting released on DVD or Blu-ray like they were in the past.
I hope that one day in the not so distant future The Trial of the Chicago 7 will be released for home ownership on Blu-ray.
When and if that happens, I will certainly add it to my DVD/Blu-ray collection.
It was originally supposed to have been released on January 22, 2021, but due to COVID-19 it's now anyone's guess.
