The last time I took a bath to clean myself with soap and shampoo was 1991. I had just moved to a much better apartment which had, among other things, a nice bathroom. I thought I should avail myself of the opportunity to live a little luxuriously. I tried it, soaking for a while and phoning some people, then soaping and shampooing after. I never did it again because (a) there's nothing really luxurious about sitting in a tub of hot water, at least for me; (b) I smoke, and it's hard to do that when your hands are constantly getting wet; and (c) you can't get all the soap off in a bathtub, and rinsing shampoo out is clumsy.
