I honestly never heard of this contest until it was mentioned on a thread on this board some time ago. I just did a little digging:
Only four winners have charted on the US Billboard Hot 100, one of those a version by a different artist.
By far and away the biggest hit in the US was ABBA's 1974 winning song "Waterloo," which is the only winner to make the Top Ten in the US, at #6.
The other three are:
2019: "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence (Netherlands) #78. Also #12 Adult Contemporary Chart, #17 Adult Top 40, #27 Mainstream Top 40. (We Americans can be statistic crazy and list crazy.)
1976: "Save Your Kisses For Me" by Brotherhood of Man (UK) #27. Also hit #1 on the Easy Listening chart.
1967: "Puppet on a String" by Sandie Shaw (UK). A version released by trumpeter Al Hirt hit #129.
