That price sounds high. What type of Mazda and year?
share2015 Cx 5 including mobile repair
shareIf your getting an actual new Mazda alternator, and not a rebuilt one, then the price is probably good. I’m not familiar with the mobile repair labor prices but I would assume it’s more than in a shop.
shareDoing a search reveals prices from range from $59 to $226.
So if you can find a mechanic to install it for you (mine charges $80 per hour), you could also save some money.
I had one installed on my geo metro several years ago by another different local mechanic for $100 (including the cost of labor and needing to come to my place to do it which is located about a mile from the business).
He also had to unscrew the side fender of the car to be able to install it. But he also got it installed in less than an hour.
The place that inspects my car also wanted $265 to replace a SIDE MIRROR that someone knocked off, but my mechanic ordered one for $25 and then installed it for $20 (saving me more than $200 if I'd had it put on by the other business).
It also only took about 5 min for him to screw in the 3 screws that were needed to be screwed as a way to replace the old mirror.
I was in a bit of a jam. I need to get back to work and this was the most affordable option
shareI have a 1994 Blazer with only 146+K miles on it ... and it's running good lately!
But I am paying $350+ to get a rear window working properly and I wonder if I'm spending bad money after good.
The whole thing is about to fall apart but ... it's Paid For !
What's a Used Car cost? At least $6K?
Where's the Cut/Off Line?
I wouldn't mind driving a different vehicle but I'm used to my Baby Blazer, not too small on the road, not a lot of giddy-up but always capable and dependable with the right maintenance. Been my BF over a number of Real People who have moved on, sad to say.
