Why do movies always have lower resolution on screen screens than the resolution the movie is filmed at

It's this weird trope where for some reason you can be watching a 4k movie but when a monitor flashes on the screen it is clearly some 780i or lower resolution. We also have the issue where someone recording something looks like they're using an old camcorder instead of an iPhone.

Probably to make it obvious that they are showing us a monitor. Like the actual movie you are watching is supposed to be "real life," and the screen that they show needs to be painfully obvious that it is a screen, and not a window. Or something.

That's because Hollywood types are snobs that think we plebs never seen 4K screens and therefore have to be shown low res video to make it more acceptable to our pallates.
