Do British overuse the word that?


Example, instead of saying "I was hoping you'd come", they'll say "I was hoping that you'd come."

Is that extra word really needed?

Not really happy with how I detangled that, it seems like it should be "it is true for all thats that what "that" refers to is not the same "that" that other thats refer to.

I think they overuse the word "Brilliant", that's for sure. And I just finished watching The Boys on Netflix and it that is any indication, they overuse the word Cunt as well.
