Watched Fracture (2007) last night, highly implausible twist *Spoilers*

The movie was good, up until the twist. Highly implausible that a character brilliant enough to meticulously plan and pull that entire thing off would not have foreseen the glaringly obvious flaw in his double jeopardy plan.

As soon as the officer suggested it to Gosling it stood out to me as a very poor continuity error. Even if Hopkins’ character wasn’t created to be this mastermind it should’ve still been obvious that they were two entirely different crimes. I’m not sure how this didn’t occur to the screenwriters.

Entertaining though, and worth a watch. Solid performances and an impressive debut as a leading man for Gosling.

I gave it an 8 on IMDb. For what I remember of it, it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be.

This was far from Gosling's first lead role, but being clueless is part of MovieBuff's branding, so it checks out.

MovieBuff???? Where have you been? Have you been away engrossed in Italian crime films?

reply

More like engrossed in gloryhole clientele at the YMCA.
