If aliens were to land on earth, how would they regard us?
As food?
As slaves?
As children?
As bacteria?
As threatening?
As insignificant?

I was watching an old Outer Limits episode a few days ago where aliens land on earth and are friendly. But they start doing experiments to try and change the soil, vegetation and water in order to grow food. These changes would have made earth uninhabitable for humans so all the humans would have starved to death. The aliens were vegetarian aliens and weren't interested in humans as food. We had nothing to offer them at all.
shareThere are so many possibilities.
shareDepends heavily on how evolved they were. If they fit the Hollywood stereotype of big brains frail frame aliens, we’d be fucked. If they were the Ridley Scott Aliens, we could handle them pretty well. If they were a combination we’d be fucked. I’d say if they made it to us before we were able to even identify intelligent extraterrestrial life, we would probably be at a big disadvantage.
shareThe Hollywood stereotype relies on us projecting the worst aspects of human nature onto the 'aliens'. I think we need to think bigger here and imagine that they could be godlike in their abilities and that we would be no more then microbes to them.
shareAs too stupid to live?
"These beings have the idiom 'avoid it like the plague', yet when an actual plague comes along they refuse to take the simplest precautions. Perhaps we had better forget about making alliances with their governments, and just harvest them for food. Look at the way they breed, they're sustainable..."
I still don’t think that we would even register with them.
shareAs food? - Yes, a delicacy due to the effort to fly here and back to wherever they come from
As slaves? - Depends on the profit and loss, probably cheaper to have robots
As children? - Yes, DNA slicing and splicing. Tapping into how we are able to get close to god (the 7 chakras that are unique to the human race) - Most other species only have 2-4 chakras)
As bacteria? - No, however we are very far down on the hierarchy of species that exists in the universe, though not on some DNA level, its due to the mass disillusion everyone is under on this earth. Due to ego.
ET's are very interested in our DNA, as we are actually created in gods image, as a conduit to get to god. We are studied as such.
As threatening? - No, however alien contact picked up after we started detonating nukes around the end of WW2. We are being monitored with more attention now because of this.
As insignificant? - Yes on the short term time horizon. No long term time horizon. We have the potential to be one the of the greats, but its just potential at this stage, lots of potential. Only time will tell if we make it
What if the ETs were God?
