I haven't seen it, but is it as bad as Red Planet Mars (1952)? A scientist finds a way to communicate with Mars, and it turns out the Martians are devout Christians who now scold us Earthlings for straying from God's plan.

I'm stealing a line from a different movie here .., If you ever want to punish yourself for some terrible sin, watch Red Planet Mars. Otherwise, don't. It's not even "so bad it's funny," it's just damn bad.

Manos certainly comes to mind. There’s no way Possession (1981) belongs on such a list.

It's been awhile but I recall at least enjoying Possession
As for Manos it simply made no sense at all
