Who do you prefer: male or female singing voices?
I prefer female singing voices. I dunno. Maybe they are more soothing?

Male vocals are better suited to metal and heavy rock which I like, but I also enjoy female vocalists on pop and symphonic metal.

Generally females but a lot of it depends on the music.
To be totally honest, I find the older I get the less I listen to music with vocals. Maybe 20-30% of the time anymore.
Interesting, what music do you mostly listen to?
shareWith vocals; classic rock, prog, punk.
Without vocals; ambient, berlin school, jazz.
Prog?
shareProgressive rock. ELP, Rush, Pink Floyd, Yes.
shareGot ya. I'm a 90's punk man myself. Plus rap. And country, new country. I like it, most people hate it.
shareIn the punk vein I'm mostly 80s hardcore. Minor Threat, Black Flag, DK, Swiz, Nomeansno, Dag Nasty...
shareI'm more, Pennywise, NOFX, greenday, blink, operation ivy. I like the dead milkmen, are they 80's?
shareThe Dead Milkmen are mostly 80s, their popularity peaked in the late 80s. They're still around and putting stuff out. A great bunch of guys if you ever get a chance to meet with them.
OpIvy is late 80s. The only Pennywise I have is Full Circle and I like it well enough. I have a couple NOFX albums but they never really hit the right notes for me. I still give them another listen every couple years.
Milkmen are still rocking, that's awesome. Yeah NOFX aren't my favourite. I prefer rancid and a few others.
shareDefinitely female lately.
shareIn the last year, I've only been seeking out female vocals. Specifically 1970s prog-rock.
I love soothing, but I also like Savage Rose for example.
Inara George, that is all.
