Anyone actually cried because a celebrity died?
I see on the news when it happens, Michael Jackson, Robin Williams or more recently Kobe Bryant.

shareI did for Bowie
shareNo. I never cried over a celebrity's death mainly because I never knew the person; other than through their movies and the public eye. I do feel bad for their families though....
shareI'm still a bit surprised that I didn't cry about Michael Jackson. That one hurt.
shareNo but in some cases as,e.g., Carrie Fisher, Michael Jackson or Charlton Heston I was sad. In the last case it was just because he was in a very good movies (as planet of the Apes) thalt I like though I really disagree with his passion for the RNA.
shareNover cried but some deaths have left me feeling depressed.
Robin Williams is probably the one that affected me most. He was a connecting thread between my sons and I. I grew up with Mork and Mindy, Garp, Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society. When my sons were born we had fun as a family watching Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Aladdin...
The other one that affected me deeply was John Lennon. The Beatles were the background soundtrack of my boyhood. I transitioned into my teens listening to his solo stuff. He had just started making music again when he was killed. He was the first music icon I admired to die.
