What's the last great opening credit sequence?

I can't think of any I truly love that came out recently. I think films have lost their opening credit touch.

Some of my favourites of all time are: Fight Club, The Untouchables, Batman (1989), Signs and Panic Room.

Most of the Bond movies have good ones

Yes! Skyfall is extra special because the theme song is so damn good!

It's good because they always look on the bright side of life.

Trainspotting
The Player
2001: A Space Odyssey

The Player credit scene is one of the best long takes I've seen.

reply

Agree. It's really well done

The Kingdom (2007)
EuroTrip (2004)

I think most of the James Bonds are pretty strong. Here's my favorite.. https://youtu.be/8Bht_jdNF5g

That and GoldenEye would be my faves.

I went to see GoldenEye earlier this year in the theater and I hadn't seen it in ages. Watching the opening scene and credits was so cool. Almost like it was the first time and it put me right into the mood.

☭ I liked the tasteful way they showed the fall of the Soviet Union with sexy girls defacing statutes, I’m sure we’ll never see statues toppled like that ever again! ☭

reply

Ah, the sexy girls don't do a lot for me personally, but I loved how that sequence symbolized the events that occurred between the flashback and present day scenes.

reply

Do you know how refreshing it is to see a scene like that with no CGI?

This could be a contender too:

That is so beautiful. I vote for that. I've never seen the movie, a little too guy oriented for me.

reply

I've got it on loop, just listening to the music.
