Do you like the idea of a dog in an office?

I heard that dogs decrease stress just having them there.

Personally, I don’t think it’s professional. I wouldn’t allow it at work.

EDIT: I just realised how devastating it would be when it dies. That would be very hard if people became genuinely attached.

If the dog is well behaved and doesn't bark, bite, or do anything bad, I won't mind for the most part. It's a bonus if people don't coo every time they see it - but I wouldn't bank on that not happening, so meh. I'd be a little wary of the dog, but that's my phobia for ya.

Absolutely!! I envy those workplaces where people bring their dogs. It is so sad to leave them home alone, and doggy daycare is expensive.

However, it really depends on the office and the dog. Probably not a good idea for an office with a lot of clients coming in, some of whom may be afraid of dogs. Any office dog would have to be mellow (no jumpers or vicious dogs) and well trained too. I think it would have to be unanimously ok’d by everyone.

I once did a job interview and the interviewer’s big labrador was jumping and sniffing at me the entire time. I love dogs but this was way too much. I think he was using the dog as some sort of twisted vetting system. To see if I could answer his bizarre questions while being attacked by his dog. I purposely tanked the interview and got out of there as fast as I could.

Sure. I'd accept almost any idea in an office, as long as it's not put into action.
