George Michael - Father Figure, great song

https://youtu.be/Z1SBUyiD91M

I grew up listening to him and Michael Jackson. They were the coolest dudes around back then. Shame what happened to them.

Definitely one of my favorites of his. Great video too. 👍

reply

Yeah, doesn’t get much cooler than George Michael driving a car in sunglasses

reply

You like Wham! any?

reply

Hell yeah

reply

Do me a favor, wake me up before you go go?

reply

Naw man, I hope your not planning on going solo.

reply

What happened to George? I mean, I know he died relatively young, but I can't remember any MJ-like scandal with him. Unless you mean the whole lewd behaviour thing. If so, I wouldn't feel sorry for him about that. It was publicly awkward but in the end I imagine a great relief that he didn't have to pretend to be straight anymore. Not that anyone was buying that anyway...lol

Yeah Father Figure was one of his best. Praying For Time is another favourite of mine.

reply

arrested for sucking **** in public isn't a scandal?

reply

No, it's a Saturday night for me.

reply

lol, cool

reply

Seriously I think everyone accepts George was framed. The cop stood there flashing his johnson at George for Christ’s sake. If that’s not entrapment I don’t know what is.

Have you seen the video to his song ‘Outside’? He completely owns the incident and mocks the cops. So yeah, in terms of scandals, it wasn’t like being accused of being a sick child molester.

reply

no, i didn't know that

reply

Yeah, there were a few occasions where he crashed his car in London, whilst under the influence of drugs (have pop/rock stars never heard of chauffeurs or taxis?). He also fell out with Elton John, who went on to say that GM was in a bad place and that he was worried about his mental health. Then gone, aged 50ish - sad really.

reply

He was pretty tragic in his final years, addicted to drugs, had put on a lot of weight and was reclusive, he fell out of a moving car just a year or two before his death, and crashed his car in another incident.

He was a tragedy waiting to happen, sad really, I prefer to remember him from the Faith era and Wham! days.

reply

Yeah sucks, live by the sword die by the sword

reply

He got dicked to death !?

reply

Pork sword?

That was a very popular song.

Sure, it's great. But I do love the Tainted Cell video. It's so wrong! When he takes the little girl's apple...

The 12 inch is better. 😎

Could be, I can't say. The video is my favorite part!

reply

A Different Corner is my favorite by George. I liked all of his music including his stuff with WHAM.

reply

I love that song too.

I'm uncomfortable about the content of the song. It's possibly about sex between a man and a boy.

Father figure? I'll be your daddy? Put your little hand in mine?!?!?

And what's with the line "sometimes love can be mistaken for a crime."

Yes, pedophilia is a crime.

And to really tell us that it's about a boy he even says "greet me with the eyes of a child."

Then we have the song One More Try, which is about a boy and his "teacher."

In this song George seems to be taking the voice of the besotted child.

It seems to be the story of a street boy who falls in love with a pedophile and wants to be rescued by his lover from the street.

But he's dealing with the rejection in a very forbidden and illegal relationship.
